Director of Operations & Founder
kathy.holt@cayaclinic.com
Kathy is dedicated to assisting those affected by substance use disorders in rural and urban communities through her work as the Director of Operations and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor at CAYA Clinic. I bring four years of experience in the human services field to empower individuals on their journey toward recovery. As a case manager, intake clinician, primary counselor, and clinical supervisor-in-training in a non-profit outpatient treatment setting, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible strength and resilience that can arise from even the most challenging circumstances. With a deep understanding of the impact of substance use and mental health, both personally through close family members and professionally, I am dedicated to providing compassionate support and quality care. Prior to providing substance use disorder counseling, I worked in rural primary care for 10 years and as a supervisor in an outpatient clinic setting in rural underserved Wisconsin which also provided me the opportunity to assist those affected by substance use and mental health disorders.
Kathy is also a certified aromatherapist and enjoys teaching the people that she works with how they can utilize aromatherapy to help manage intense emotions.
Lara Lewandowski, MS, LMFT, SAC-IT
She, Her
Family Program Manager, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist
lara.lewandowski@cayaclinic.com
Lara was inspired to become a therapist through her own lived experience as an affected family member. After losing her mother to the opioid epidemic, she felt a deep calling to show up for others so they would know they’re not alone in their pain, questions, or healing. That sense of purpose continues to guide her work every day.
Lara is a licensed mental health and substance use therapist who has worked in the field since 2014. She works with individuals navigating substance use, mental health challenges, and those who have been impacted as affected family members. Lara is especially passionate about supporting college students and young adults as they move through pivotal life transitions.
She co-facilitates the outpatient group Unlearning Internalized Stigma, which focuses on dismantling stigma within the community of people who use substances, while empowering individuals through education, reflection, and connection. As someone who has personally experienced the impact of substance use in her family, Lara brings empathy, authenticity, and understanding to her work. She validates the emotional responses of loved ones while offering practical tools to support their well-being. Using a harm reduction lens, she also helps clients explore healthier ways to support loved ones who use substances.
Lara’s approach is grounded in systemic therapy, with attention to family dynamics, generational and childhood trauma, and attachment styles. She integrates narrative therapy to challenge negative self-talk, motivational interviewing and solution-focused techniques to support change, and nurtures growth through self-compassion and inner child work.
She is also trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), which she offers as a supportive option for clients who feel stuck in their therapeutic progress after trying other approaches. Lara thoughtfully incorporates KAP to help clients reconnect with themselves and move forward with greater clarity and emotional flexibility.
Outside of her work, Lara enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts and comedy shows, and exploring Madison’s vibrant restaurant scene. She’s also a devoted dog lover and proud pug mom to Pattie Mae.

Young Women's Empowerment Group Leader
jazzman.brown@cayaclinic.com
My name is Jazzman Brown, and if there's one thing I know for certain, it's that I was always meant to be a voice for the voiceless. Growing up in a small, tight-knit community, I learned early on that change doesn’t come from waiting for others to act—it comes from rolling up your sleeves, stepping up, and standing alongside the people who need it most. This is how I became a grassroots community organizer, driven by my unwavering passion for social justice.
